Frequently Asked Questions

An academic credential evaluation explains how education completed outside the U.S. compares to U.S. academic standards. It helps schools, employers, immigration authorities, and other organizations understand your degree or diploma equivalency.

You may need an evaluation if you’re using foreign education for:

  • U.S. college or university admissions
  • Employment verification
  • Immigration filings(USCIS)
  • High school/secondary school equivalency
  • U.S. military recruitment
  • Licensure-related reviews (regulated professions)

Standard Evaluation confirms your overall U.S. degree/diploma equivalency (most common for USCIS, employment, military, and many high school needs).

Course-by-Course Evaluation provides detailed course, credit, and grade analysis (often required for college/university admissions, transfer credit, and placement).

Most institutions require a Course-by-Course Evaluation because they need to review coursework, credit hours, grade conversions, and sometimes a U.S. GPA for admissions, placement, or transfer credit decisions.

In most cases, Standard Evaluation is recommended for USCIS because immigration filings typically need a clear U.S. equivalency statement rather than detailed course and GPA analysis. Course-by-course is available if an attorney specifically requests it.

Most evaluations are delivered within 24–72 hours. Same-day service is available for urgent requests when ordered Monday–Friday before 3 PM ET.

Typically you’ll upload:

  • Your diploma/degree certificate
  • Your transcripts/mark sheets

If your documents are not in English, you’ll also need certified translations (you can provide your own or request translations through their translation partner).

Yes. If direct delivery is required, reports can be emailed directly to institutions or agencies when requested. Printed copies are also available for an additional fee.

Yes. Certified translations are available through MotaWord, or you may submit your own certified translations as long as they meet the receiving organization’s requirements.

Some schools, employers, or agencies require evaluations from organizations affiliated with NACES or AICE. Evaluations USA is not a member of NACES or AICE, so you should confirm the receiving organization’s requirements before ordering.
